WaterWorks Advisory Council

The next advisory council meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 30th at noon at the Waterworks Art Center.

 
 

Lee Anne Zeigler

Executive Director of WaterWorks Art Center, holds a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences and Chemistry and a Master of Science in Landscape Architecture and Horticulture. Her passion for science is equaled by her love of art and artistic expression. It is in the nurturing environment of this art center that she has enhanced her abilities as a weaver of handwoven fabrics and wearable art.

E. Dee Tabor

President, has more than 20 years of experience as a Chickasaw artist working primarily in the realm of contemporary jewelry. Most of her coursework has been technique-driven, seeking out workshops with jewelry artists who have become acknowledged experts in many forms. She sells her work primarily through galleries (Featured Artist at the 108 Contemporary, 2016-2021) and two annual juried shows where she placed first for jewelry: Artesian Art Festival and the Southeastern Art Show and Market. Retired after more than 30 years of teaching, E. Dee devotes her full attention to making art and further explore the designs collected in her journals.

Lori has been an instructor at Waterworks since 2019.  She finds great joy in being involved with this vibrant organization and therefore accepted a position on the Advisory Council in 2022, offering her experience as a business woman, entrepreneur and artist.  Waterworks has provided Tulsa and surrounding areas with a welcoming creative art space for students, instructors and volunteers since 2002.  Lori is excited to further the mission of Waterworks to provide art for everyone.

 

Hans Fitchenberg

Hans has always been drawn to creative forms of expression and enjoys all types of visual art including creating pottery, experimenting with faux finishes, photography, exploring architecture and interior design, expanding his skills for paper making and various painting styles. Hans served on the WaterWorks Advisory Council for three years before joining the WaterWorks staff in March of 2018. “Working in an environment that is filled with inspired and creative spirits is a privilege and joy to be grateful for each day.”

Lynn Tedder

Lynn holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Texas at Austin. She has been weaving for over 40 years and studying, teaching, and writing about weaving for over 20. She has had articles and projects published in Weaver’s and Handwoven magazines. From 2000 until 2015, she served as a technical editor for Handwoven magazine. She particularly enjoys figuring out what the threads in a weave structure are doing and then explaining her discoveries to anyone who stands or sits still long enough to listen.

Julie Greenwood

Julie was inspired by her mother’s creativity at an early age and has been interested in art ever since. Julie studied painting at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and photography at Columbia College Chicago. Julie’s passion for flowers and design is evident in her work as a professional photographer. For her work in pottery, Julie finds inspiration from the beauty of nature, often carving free-flowing lines and delicate patterns into the surface of her thrown ceramic pieces. Julie is excited and happy to be part of the WaterWorks Advisory Council.

 

Ben Schinn

Ben moved to Oklahoma from New Hampshire in 2022. In search of a creative outlet, Ben ended up taking a ceramics course at WaterWorks. Later, he was accepted into the Advisory Council, offering his experiences as a software developer.

Laura Mauck

Laura is an avid art enthusiast who appreciates being a part of such a vibrant art community. Laura currently works with children and their families building community connections.  Laura has degrees in Art, Management, Public Relations and Community Planning. Her previous experience includes Community Planning, Teaching Children about Design and the Environment, the Photovoice Project, Kids Against Hunger, Tulsa Global Alliance, Tulsa Zoo Friends, Real Estate and the Hospitality Industry, in addition to volunteering for many non-profit organizations.

 

Ingrid Paule Hamel

Ingrid studied Fine Arts in her hometown of Montreal, Quebec. After graduation, she headed to her next adventure in Hawai’i where she spent 20 years. “Those experiences had a profound effect of my development and inspiration as an artist – Island life, native culture and the vast diversity of its Asian culture have been instrumental in engaging communities and refining my expression using graphite and charcoal, printmaking and weaving. I love being part of the WaterWorks Art Center team. Aloha!”

Linda White

Linda with husband Jack owned their business (FEC) for 45 years, which they recently sold, so she has plenty of free time.  A student of pottery she loves Waterworks, learning new techniques, and spending time with her clay buddies.  Linda is also a member of Tulsa Genealogical Society and is a volunteer at Ascension St. John Medical Center in Tulsa.

 

Shelley Strickland

Treasurer, joined the Waterworks Advisory Council in the spring of 2022.  She has worked for Vast Bank for more than 25 years and is a Senior Vice President in commercial lending.  Shelley holds a degree in Finance and Economics from Oklahoma State University.  Although not artistic herself, she has family ties to Waterworks.  Her mother-in-law is a very talented sculptor who taught some classes at Waterworks in the early 2000s and her three children attended the summer art camp when they were much younger.  She is inspired by all the creativity and talent at Waterworks and looks forward to scheduling a class for herself in the future.

 

Austin Grady

Austin Grady is a customer support specialist at Atlassian, with over a decade of experience in tech and customer support.  He has been part of the Tulsa community since 2020 with family roots in Enid. Austin is excited to both contribute to and learn from the Waterworks Center. When he's not playing bike polo, Austin also volunteers as a Reading Partner and at the Spotlight Theater.
